I just discovered, on moving, a large box filled with tons of negatives ( more of the "snap" than the "artsy" variety, so Instead of cataloging them etc. I'm just going to reach in from time to time and scan one in my old Nikon Cool-Scan IV which I was able to resurrect via a new program with driver to make it work with my new Mac

gallery: MSM 1970
These images were taken at The Manhattan School Of Music in the aftermath of the Kent State Massacre, May 4th 1970.
See http://alancanfora.com/ or http://www.geocities.com/RainForest/2556/kent.html ****
The gatherings of students, faculty and administrators, were convened to find a way to mount a peaceful protest through music.
The results were: a school wide strike, part of the national student peace strike, and a full-scale memorial concert of the orchestral chorale music of Brahms and of Beethoven’s monumental and uplifting ninth symphony.
Did any of this change the world?
I don't know. I would like to think so, but I know for certain that it was a fine moment in the life of that institution, and an affirmation of the healing power of music.

gallery: NYC Pbase MEET-UP
A Saturday in Lower Manhattan
Large Files - View in Large Mode
We all remarked that it was ironic that Pbase brought us all together and was down for the count that week.
I still haven't figures out what to do about Pbase and put this gallery up on both Zenfolio and SmugMug http://vbelf.smugmug.com/Events/Pbase-Meetup/9817985_ENb3o#666979911_2jeQT just to compare the look of the galleries and the ease of use.
I'm leaning toward ZF but a lot of the gang seems to be headed toward SM
I'm really disappointed in Pbase, because of the breakdown, but more so because a full explanation and apology and, most importantly, because a promise of a game plan to improve the service in the future has not been forthcoming.

gallery: TRAINS
You can hear the whistle, you can hear the bell
From the halls of heaven to the gates of hell
And there's room for the forsaken if you're there on time
You'll be washed of all your sins and all of your crimes
If you're down there by the train
Down there by the train
Down there by the train
Down there by the train
Down there where the train goes slow
